The 4 new requirements
Total investment ≥ ¥30,000,000
Paid-in capital alone is no longer sufficient. The ¥30M threshold now applies to total business investment: capital + office rent + equipment + 1 year of employee salaries.
Full-time Japanese national or PR employee
You must employ at least one full-time employee who is a Japanese national or permanent resident. Part-time workers do not qualify.
Management experience or master's degree
3+ years of management experience, OR a master's degree from a recognized institution.
Japanese language proficiency
The visa holder or the qualifying full-time employee must have demonstrated Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N2 or equivalent).
